Giving back - To Underprivileged Girls - Kanya
Our brand derives its name, Kanya (Sanskrit for ‘girl’) from our passion to promote the well-being of girls living in underprivileged parts of the world.
Before launching Kanya, our founder, Vernika, worked in the not-for-profit sector with grassroots organizations focused on education, menstrual hygiene and emotional well-being of girls in rural India. Vernika served as a project manager, interfacing with leaders, employees and volunteers at these charities to increase awareness for the organizations and their causes as well as leading money-raising efforts.
A portion of Kanya’s profits goes towards supporting charities focused on girls living in underprivileged parts of the world in places like the Indian subcontinent, Africa and others.
